Actually, this sounds like *every* IIc that I've seen. I think that
what you have seen before is a IIe which had the slots in the
computer.
The IIc had an external power brick. This is what fits into the 7 pin
connector you describe. You can probably pick one up pretty cheaply
in comp.sys.apple2.marketplace.
