Apple /// Profile controller

I do some work at a place that recently required a couple of
Apple /// Profile I/O controllers, so I have a few questions.

I seem to remember people looking for these, as it possibly
could do a low-level format of a Profile.  I just don't
remember if it needed a special chip on it, or if it was
a different card.

I do have one of the cards sitting by my computer, so I
should be able to answer any questions.
