Communicating with an Apple IIe

Hi,

Thanks to those people who replied to my earlier post on RS232 apple
IIe connections.  Now seeing that this is not possible unless the
Apple IIe has an add on serial card and the existing 9pin plug is a
joystick port rather than a serial port, then what is the best way to
transfer files to an apple IIe?

If I have access to a macintosh (before the PowerMac version) is there
a straightforward way to copy to an Apple IIe diskette.  Will the
apple IIe disk drives interface to a macintosh?

I might have a look and see what those other cards were that came with
these computers.  My boss called them network cards but maybe it's
possible that they are serial.
