New IDE disk controller
Hi,
Joachim asked me to post something about his new "MicroDrive/Turbo
Card" IDE disk controller. The main differences (as I see them) to the
TurboIDE are:
- Use two drives with up to 2GB storage each
- Upcoming support for 120MB "floppy" drives
- Very small form factor
- Can be used as a "drivecard" for internal 2.5" drives or to connect
external drives
And, of course, all the goodies that were available before, like DMA
(he says 1.5 times faster than a RamFAST), support of up to 8MB RAM,
DMA can be switched off if you have components that do not support
DMA, works in IIgs or //e, etc.
