    Is it? According to SHH's price list, the controller card alone 
costs over US$150 with shipping. PC 3.5 floppy mechanisms are dirt
cheap, true, but you would still need to purchase a external case 
and powersupply to house one in (unless you have your IIgs in a PC 
tower case).

    I found myself an Apple II 3.5 Disk Controller Card and later an 
internal SuperDrive mechanism (which I installed in an 800K case) for 
US$90, plus an additional US$10 to get both items shipped. Cheap or
expensive though, it's kind of a moot point considering how rare the
controller card is. These days I wouldn't invest that kind of money
on a floppy drive, what with PC ones costing a mere $15-$20 new.

    Are you talking about 720K MFM disks? The SuperDrive can read
400K, 720K, 800K and 1.44 MB formatted diskettes (GCR and MFM).
