Which version of the Quickie software did you do those experiment
scans with? If it was version 3.x or higher, that would explain why
the LightningScan GS came out looking superior (older versions of the
Quickie software, like 2.03, are *far* better looking than anything
the newer software produces for photo scans).
The hand held scanner units are completely identical, it's just
the interface slot card and software that's different.
