Once again, this is simply not true, and hasn't been for a long time.
Even with PowerBooks, it does not void your warranty to add memory,
and in most cases the owner's manuals even tell you how. The newer
PowerMacs also make it much easier to add a second hard-drive or
other internal drive.

And you also seem to be ignoring the fact that Apple is not the only
game in town for Macs anymore. If you don't like Apple's policies,
go to a competitor. There are several, all offering systems with their
own advantages.

Like BeOS and mkLinux, you mean? (AIX also fits in your criteria --
it is native to PPC -- but doesn't run on Macs at this time.) Neither
run on top of MacOS, and both offer very attractive alternatives to
the MacOS, if you are so inclined.

To keep it short, I'll withhold comment on the rest of your message.
Just trying to correct the most glaring errors.
