Re: Long life battery!!!
Dr. Buggie outgassed these fumes:
BUE(| Let's boogie, let's buggie, let's _solder_!
You'd prefer superglue? :)
BUE(| With all the hype about the charms of overpriced slide-on
| batteries for the IIgs, I am waiting for my IIgs to need a
| replacement, I salvaged a good lithium 3.6v battery from a
| junked Gateway 386, and I will delight in SOLDERING that battery
| to its motherboard terminals!
I said cheese that noise and ordered a 1/2AA battery holder from Radio
Shack ($1 plus $1 postage) and used double-stick foam tape to mount the
thing in the little frame marked "battery" on my ROM01, so when I need
to change the cell in about nine years from now (give or take some)
it'll be as easy as if I owned a ROM03. RatShack has the battery, cat
number 23-26 in-store (the leaded solder-in ones are special order).
As for the PRICING of those damn Tadrian 1/2AA cells: blah. Good
thing they last a decade because at an average of $1 per year...
