Overheating will definitely lock up a IIgs.

Transwarp and those other cards would cause the overheating problem.

Solution---Steven buggie sells a power supply (more powerful, extra 
wattage)  that is connected to the computer outside of the case.  Very 
reasonable prices too.

This will convert your box back into a computer instead of oven/comp.


Another solution:  Make your own case.  I rigged mine out of Clear 
PLEXI-Glass.

All of the drives are contained within.  I designed it to get max. 
ventilation too.
