The first 50,000 or so GSs sold had a silkscreened signature by
Steve 'Woz' Wozniak on the front of the case. That's what 'Woz'
edition stands for. You could swap the buggy ROM and VGC that Apple
had in the original GS to make it a ROM 01, or do a motherboard swap
to turn it into a ROM 3.
Some collectors like it. However, I regard the guts of my computer
as being far more important and useful than the looks or logos (it's
not a work of art or anything else; it's a tool to be used), so I
personally put no added value on it. If you see a Woz edition GS for
sale, and want to use it for more than decorations, make sure it's at
least a ROM 01 under the hood, or anything since about 1988 probably
won't run on it.
