for some of us, the "silly" pictures, audio, and java, IS work.  :)

I don't think SIS should take the blame for that, though.  I mean, doing 
binary mode transfers requires TCP/IP, correct?  I guess if you look at 
the whole picture, and what the authors knew was available to the GS 
public, (ala NO-TCP) SIS is still a very impressive app.  

I know what you mean though, I hunger for more apps as much as the next 
super-GS user.  The machine has the capability, it just seems like the 
majority of programming enthusiasm has dried up.  :(  I'm still waiting 
for some SS-aware software other than graphic viewers.  I know you 
(Mitch) have 0% faith in the SS project, but I'm still holding out.  :)  
I have faith in certain individuals (who I will not nag *ahem*) to bring 
us some desktop magic.  My BEEF chip patiently awaits.
