If you have a Turbo Mouse ADB 3.0, you can plug it in between the KB
and mouse. One button = the regular mouse button; the other is a locking
(push-ON, Push-OFF) mouse button. If the "Chording" feature is active,
pressing both buttons will output a CMD key (e.g. CMD-N, etc.).
According to some ancient review info, the switches on the back let
you pick which of your buttons will be the one which 'locks' and have
something to do with picking the CMD key which will be output when both
buttons are pressed.
TM does not work correctly on older (pre-later-1987) GS's. One
simple compatibility test is to move the ball rapidly left or right and
see whether or not the cursor 'speeds up' and moves farther than when the
ball is turned the same distance slowly. Another check is to slowly move
the ball a fixed distance right and, then, the same distance left: the
cursor should return to its starting point.
If you can get the chording feature to work, that is another pretty
good indication of compatibility.
