   That is correct; any and all Stylewriters past the original are
unusuable on Apple IIs. (In fact, the SW I is only usuable on a GS.)
The HP Deskjet line of printers is far more compatible with the whole
line of Apple IIs than any inkjet with a fruity logo on the front.

   Apple bundled a StyleWriter I driver with System 6.0.1; Harmonie
(recently taken over by Joe Kohn/Shareware Solutions II) is promised
to support the SW I better. However, as Apple's changed the protocols
for each model, the driver for one won't work with a different
printer. [That's another thing the HP printers did right... except for
the few Windoze-only ones (which are identified as such), the HPs are
interchangeable]
