It is a parallel printer interface card. It has built-in support for
dumping Hi-res graphics screens to some types of printers. For text
use, it is one of the more common cards. AppleWorks requires a minor
change from its default configuration to use the card properly.

Only if you want to connect a parallel printer to the computer. You
will have to set the corresponding slot to "Your Card", and you will
lose the built-in function for that slot (usually).

No to both. IIe auxiliary slot memory cards only work in the IIe. The
chips will be the wrong type for any IIgs memory expansion card.

Only if you want to connect Disk ][ drives without having to make an
adaptor cable, or want 5.25" drives to be available in a slot other than
6, or need it for perfect compatibility with some software that doesn't
work with the IIgs disk firmware (this is rare).

Again, you have to set the slot to "Your Card", and you will lose the
built-in function. You cannot put the card in slot 1, 2 or 3 of a IIgs
unless you only use it in GS/OS, or set the system speed to "Normal".
