However, be sure you get it absolutely right.  I built a ADB Y-splitter
a few years ago.  The wiring was correct, the solder connections looked
ok, and it tested out on a multimeter.  It had, however, what I believe
to be an intermittent short.  It fried the motherboard (or at least
the ADB portion).
