Hey, let us not forget that the Apple II lives on, even after 20 years!
If you go to your local Toys R Us, you should find the Tiger learning
computer for under $300, which is based on the Apple II ! (The IIe, to
be exact)
Pretty wild! It's not compatible with the old II's, since it uses
PC-style ports, and also because it uses ROM cartridges instead of
disks, but it's got Apple's logo on it, and one of the cartridges is an
old IIe version of AppleWorks!

Who woulda thunk it?

Unfortunately, Apple doesn't do anything at all to promote or even
mention this computer, much like their normal treatment of the II once
the Lisa/Macintosh era began...
