   Problem: standard PC serial ports can't speak Appletalk any better
than their disk drives can read Apple II 5.25" or 3.5" disks. You'll
need some box between them such as an Ethernet <-> Appletalk
converter.

   Kernel bloat alert! Rip out what you don't need and rebuild a
kernel optimized for your system. Even the 386/40 on my desk at work
can rebuild a kernel in about 60-80 minutes, so there's no need to
have all sorts of unused crud around in your system.
