I believe you can probably trick them into it.  All you should have to
do is create a hard drive image and sector edit the volume header to
limit the volume size to 1600 blocks (800K) instead of 65536 (32M).

I would have tried it with ApplePC before posting this but I don't
currently have a disk image with a sector editor on it on my 486.  I
might give it a try later.

Mind you, your 3.5" controller would then be in slot 7 instead of the
traditional slot 5 but I can live with that.  :)
