Some System 5 tools were built into ROM 3 GSes. Not sure which,
but if you boot up System 5.0x on the GS, you can remove some of the Tools
from the System folder and STILL bootup. The only difference is, if the GS
found a Tool in the system folder it will use that one, if not, it goes
into the ROM and see if it has one built-in.
There was a thread on this a couple of years ago, which I believe
I had asked the comp.sys.apple2 on ROM 01 v ROM 3.
