On the bottom of my 128, there is a little metal plate with the ROM and two 
switches underneath.  With these switches, you can configure the external 
drive to be in "slot 5" or "slot 7" (not real slots).  The default is "slot
6".

I do have one real external slot on my machine.  You don't have this?

Louis
