If you have no reason to believe that Arkanoid has been corrupted
(e.g. by Reset or power-off during a write), then, review any system
software mods (e.g. new Inits, screen savers, addition of
AppleTalk, etc.).
I do not know whether or not Arkanoid will run under System 6;
it's a pretty old game. If you've installed Sys6 since your last,
no-problems Arkanoid session and are launching the game under this
system, that may be the problem. You might try launching the game from
its diskette or launching it under GSOS 5.04.
Otherwise, it sounds like the game thinks a button or key is
being pushed. Use a joystick tuning program to check for a stuck
button. Or; try unplugging your joystick.
It is, also, possible that your mouse button switch has cratered
and makes intermittant contact. Usually, a messed-up mouse button will
show up pretty clearly when trying to move and re-size windows under
the Finder.
Another possibility is a loose keyboard or mouse cable connection
or a partially stuck keyboard key. Jiggling the cables may help.
