I'm really not sure what all this is about, but it sure appears that I
have struck a nerve somewhere.  I truly am a newbie to the Apple
environment (GS, specifically).  However, I am not a newbie to the
Internet.  Knowing the internet to be a vast area of information, all I
wanted to do was learn how to obtain software for the GS via my Mac.  My
school has next to nothing along these lines.  I don't understand most of
what has been said in this thread, but it sure appears as though this is a
very controversial subject.
