If I gave this file to you on an Apple II disk, without MIME encoding
it, 
just in word 6.0 format you couldn't read it. You must get the people
sending you the files to save them in a format you can read. Plain Text,
or RTF format (if you have EGOed). Then you might as well ask them not
to 
MIME encode it.

Of course they will look at you funny, they probably don't even know
they are encoding it. They are cliccking a button called 'Attach' or
something like that. You'll have to get them to cut and paste it into
the body of their e-mail to you. 

A few months ago, when you and others started to ask for a MIME decoder
for Apple II's I posted that this wouldn't help the requester's read 
the files. The people sending the files need to be contacted. They need
to send them as plain text, in the body of their e-mails, and not as
attachments.
