decode base64 Apple double file
I am an occasional user of the Macintosh and I often try to help out
others in my organization who use Macintoshes. A problem that recently
bedevils us is that a business partner who uses Macintoshes sends now
sends us Macintosh file attachments in base64 Apple double files instead
of Binhex which we used to open easily on both PCs and Apples. Most of
our base64 enclosures cannot be opened on our (very old) Macs,
especially if they are not Microsoft documents.
They switched from Binhex to base64 because most users here are PC users
and our systems department does not support Macintosh.
Short of asking our partner to switch from base64 back to Binhex, how
can we solve this problem?
I am willing to pay for software to decode the base64 Apple double
enclosures on Macintosh machines. Specifically, I want to recapture the
resource fork and attach it to the file while decoding. Please point me
to a source.
