What are the options for using a IIgs with a TV supporting separate-

What cards are in development or on the horizon for IIgs output to VGA
monitors?

Is there any way to split the signal coming out of the IIgs Composite-
out jack so that it displays better on a TV supporting separate-
component (rather than just composite) jacks?

Here's a project for adapting the IIGS RGB output to component,
although it apparently doesn't play nicely with HDTVs, due to the
IIGS's video timing: http://damntechnology.blogspot.com/2008/08/apple-iigs-rgb-video-to-component.html

Actually, the blogger describes how it works perfectly with his
NTSC HDTV--no sync problems at all.

The sync problems occurred with the SCART-to-Component converter.

While I was looking for info on various RGB-based conversions, I did
find this: http://www.arcadeshop.com/rgb/rgb2ntv4.htm

RGBS in, and your choice of component, S-Video, and composite out. (I
suspect it still won't play nicely with HDTVs, at least on the
component outputs, because it's not changing the timing, it's just
changing the color encoding.)

It may be fine. It all depends on how picky the particular HDTV is.

BTW, the *cost* of this device is very low--less than $50, including
the PC board--so it could be made quite cheaply.

IIRC the IIgs has +5v on its video output connector, so a small DC-DC
converter for the negative supply and this could be a "cable wart".
