     It sounds like your printer is trying to deal with bit image 
(graphics) data as though it were text. This would explain bunches of 
line feeds, form feeds, etc..

     If your graphics/ card maker/ painter program does not include 
ImageWriter II as a supported printer, then, at some point before doing a 
graphics printout, you will need to send a graphics setup code and 
other codes to the printer.
