I don't know. Don't ask us, ask those people who are telling you that!
However, to answer your question: naah, it's not that the Apple II is
obsolete, it's just that the hardware is no longer available; therefore,
we have to make do with substitutes. (I like IIgs emulators though;
most of 'em are faster than my real IIgs and more portable: PowerGS on
the road! I love it!)
On the other hand, when I take a second look at your statement, I get my
doubts: are there really "so many people" that keep telling you the
Apple II is obsolete? Hmmm...
As far as I know, there are 2 kinds of people:
- those who have never heard of the Apple II.
- those who have.
Now the first category would not tell you the Apple II is obsolete -
they don't know it. And the second category still use and love their
Apples; they don't think it's obsolete at all.
So who are those people you talk about?
