I seem to recall bidding on a copy of COBOL for the Apple II a couple
of years ago, and as I look thru an old edition of BYTE, there is
an ad for several of the computers vintage 1981 in which COBOL for
the Apple II is included at the then price of $795...it ran under
CP/M, just as did (does) FORTRAN.

PS  I had just finished taking some introductory computer programming
courses when I made that aforementioned bid.  This is not an invite for
offers to sell me a copy of COBOL for the Apple II.... ;-)
