Treasure Chest Project was NEVER set up to rival Lost Classics
Project. This was noted to Lost Classics Project. Lost Classics Project
originated from Genie A2 roundtable. Many of us are not Genie subscribers,
and cannot have direct access to their libraries and such. We are,
thankful to those who posted the Genie Lamp Apple II for the many
comp.sys.apple2 people to read.
Treasure Chest Project and Lost Classics have similarites and
differences. TCP (Treasure Chest Project) do not speak to the authors to
ask them to archive sources codes, does not have an FTP site. TCP however,
have a web-site that everyone on the InterNet have access to, and links to
FTP sites that hosted the files. TCP shares all their findings to Lost
Classics, and in fact, we are complementing each other as much as
possible. As soon as TCP obtains the author(s)/publisher's authority to
re-classify them, it is listed as an entry and announced. Lost Classics
will be asked to speak to the author(s)/publishers to see if they liked
their software sources archived .... which is also their primarily aim.
I started Treasure Chest Project as a love to my Apple IIGS. I do
not have access to Genie (too costly), and I feel that I can also
contribute what I can, by maintaining a list for those non-Genie users and
the general comp.sys.apple2 community.
Regards.
