And In 1983 There was The MICRON EYE for the PC and Apple II's.

Have not been able to get it to work on the GS though.

The EYE has a IS32 OpticRAM and a rather large circuit board for the
Apple II's
The IS32 OpticRAM'S come in the Bullet case (a cylindrical 3x1.5 inch)
tube or in a larger rectangular box and is connected to the Apple via
a ribbon cable on the bullet at a factory BAUD of 153,600.

The PC version is via RS232. Not sure about the interface card for the
PC ?

The IS32 OpticRAM has 2 software selectable arrays of 128x256
elements,each element is 6.4 micros vertical and 6.4 micros
horizontal.

vertical pitch 6.8 microns
horizontal pitch 8.6 microns

spacing between Arrays = 120 microns

BroadBand Sensitivity of the IS32 is about 2uJ/sq cm's

Optical sensitivity from about 200 nanometers to 1100 nanometers.

Some of the Graphical MODES;

With 7-BIT single ARRAY;

ROWS	 BPR	PIXELS
----------	-------	-----------

64	37	256
64	19	128
128	73	512
128	37	256

BPR = BYTES PER ROW

With 8-BIT double ARRAY;

ROWS	BPR	PIXELS
----------	-------	-----------
128	32	256
128	16	128
256	64	512
256	32	256

SOAK TIME is under software control.
Only real limit is; Just how bright a Explosion you cast on the OBJECT
you are TRYING to SEE .

UPDATED the IS32 to a IS32A In early 84 spec's unknown.
