Checking time on-line

My whole family uses my Apple to access the Internet, and I would like to
find some application, or method, for automatically keeping tabs on date
and duration of all logons to the net.  My modem is occasionally used for
faxes, and if those timing got included, no problem.
I suppose all I really need is to log access to the modem port, which is
probably the simplest approach... but I don't know!!! Hence this quiry.
For the info of our American Cousinns, here in the U.K. we DON'T have free
local calls, so the phone bills can be quite steep - I kid you not.
P.S. My service provider won't or can't provide me with log-on timing data.
