Hi,
I bought one this weekend with no power supply. The book I have
says that it takes 15 volts at 1.8 amps. I rigged up a 12 volt 1 amp
powersupply with no problems. I don't remember the pinouts exactly, but
you can determine them easily with a continuity tester, there are really
only 2 sets of pins --> +15 volt and ground. The connector on the Laser
128 is a 7 pin din connector I believe, but you can use a 5 because only 5
pins are used. This is hard to convey via text, but 3 pins are connected
together (either 2+3+4 or 4+5+6) which go to one side of the power supply,
and 2 pins are connected together that go to the other side of the power
supply (5+6 or 2+3 respectively). At any rate, find how the 5 pins are
grouped, which group is ground (test continuity with the shield on any
port like the joystick port) and hook it up. I know this is sketchy
information, but I don't have the book handy. If you can't figure it out,
e-mail me. Don't worry too much about the voltage not being correct,
worry more about having a power supply with 1 to 1.8 amps, the Laser
regulates the voltage anyway internally. You should not use a PS with
less than 12 volts though...
