A few years ago I did a ProDOS STARTUP program selector which
includes a Time/Date display and shows current system speed as a multiple
of 'Normal'. For example, for a 10MHz Zip-GSX system set for max speed,
the display shows "x10". If Zip speed is set to 70%, it shows x7, etc..
The routine which samples speed is part of a wait-for-keypress
loop. The way it works is to CALL the ASCII Time/Date tool save the last
Seconds digit and start counting number of cycles in-out of a delay
routine which includes CALLs to the Time/Date tool to check the last
Seconds digit. When the digit changes or a key is pressed, the routine
exits. The count is used to figure the speed which is then displayed.
I'll upload the program as SPEEDGS.SHK to the 1WSW area on Ground
later on today.
