Ah, right, AppleSoft is just MicroSoft BASIC for the Apple.  I'd 
forgotten that.  :(  OTOH, the built-in BASIC in Atari computers wasn't 
written by MicroSoft.  Atari went to Bill Wilkinson and his team for 
that, as well as for Atari DOS (Bill's company was Optimized Systems 
Software, Inc.).  Atari did publish a version of MicroSoft BASIC for the 
Atari, but it came on disk (later on cartridge), whereas Atari BASIC - 
both the built in kind for the XL/XE line and the cartridge of earlier 
days - was always the OSS version.
