If you have a Laser 128 (I know you don't, but I;m just waxing
philosophic here), it fits under the ROM under the machine through the
little trap door. Supposedly, the NSC could ALSO be used in early IBM
XTs that didn't have a clock - just sticking it under any ROM chip and
running the PC software made it work.
I always thought it was rather amazing that it worked no matter where
it was.
