ProDOS doesn't have a disk formatting command. You have to run a utility
program to do it. Look for a program called "FILER.SYSTEM" or
"SYSUTIL.SYSTEM" on your disks, and run it (by typing a "-" followed by the
name of the program--for example, "-FILER.SYSTEM"). Search through the
menus until you find the disk formatting option.
Then, if you want your newly-formatted disk to be bootable, you'll have to
copy the file PRODOS onto it (PRODOS can be found on the disk you
originally booted). The same program you used to format the disk can also
be used to do the copying. If you want the disk to boot into BASIC, also
copy the file BASIC.SYSTEM onto it.
