Huh? Why can't you use a parallel card and forget the serial?

Huh? (again) Are you telling me the serial driver will work with a
parallel card? I doubt it. Remember, I'm talking about switching to a
parallel interface. Furthermore, 19200 is the fastest serial link my
printer supports (it's a DeskJet, not a DeskWriter).
