This is not true for many schools. The district that I came from a
school has 3 options to get rid of old computer equipment. 1) send it
to another school within the district, 2)put it into storage, or
3)haul it to the dump. Needless to say most schools take option 2 or
3. Of course when option 2 is no longer viable, whatever is in storage
goes to the dump to create more storage space.
