GSOS icon recognition problem.

I have created an icon for the IIgs to EXECute text files with the suffix
".EXEC" with BASIC.SYSTEM. Unfortunately, it appears that GSOS refuses to
recognize any icons defined for file type $04 (TEXT). I have never
encountered this problem with BINARY type files, so I am puzzled as to
what accounts for this unusual behavior of custom TEXT icons. Lastly, it
is worth noting that if I manually force a TEXT type file to be Launched
with BASIC.SYSTEM by holding down the "Option" key, it EXECutes properly.

Any suggestions on how I can get my custom icon to work? Am I missing
something?
