IIgs Modem Problem

Hi Folks,

I have just dusted off my old IIgs to give to my girlfriend so she will
have a way to access the internet, but I am having a problem with the
modem.. I think... I am using a Hayes 2400 baud modem and ProTerm 2.2,
but for some reason it will only connect at 300 baud, though it does
connect just fine.. I have checked the control panel and ProTerm
settings and they are both set correctly. This is probably some really
dumb oversight on my part, but it has been so long since I last used it
I don't remember much about it. Any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks :)
