What is ProDOS error $0040?

I am getting the above ProDOS error message when trying to run applications
from an Appleshare server.  I hope it is just an "out of memory" error
(which I am anticipating, because I know I need more memory in my GS), or
is it an error that indicates that an application is not "ProDOS aware" as
it mentions in the System manuals?

I have many ProDOS books, but not one of them lists error messages by
number.  Any help to confirm exactly what this error is would be
appreciated.  Thanks!
