Which SCSI card are you using?  If you have an Apple High-Speed SCSI
card with DMA enabled, then you have struck a compatibility problem.
Unless you have a RamFast, the IIgs does not support DMA with a memory
card larger than 4MB.

Some cards with more than 4MB claim to be able to work with DMA, but
I've yet to hear of any confirmation of this from a user.

To get around this problem, you must take the card back to 4MB, or
disable DMA on the SCSI card.

Another possible problem is that you have the wrong version of the
GS-RAM Plus card.  There were apparently some changes required to get it
to work with a ROM 3 IIgs.  If you have the ROM 3 version in a ROM 1
machine, or vice versa, then I would expect problems.


Have you run a proper memory test over the card?
