Network Ahoy!

Woo hoo! I'm pleased to announce that I have a working network between my GS,
Performa 200, and PeeCee! I'm using a Shiva Fastpath to bridge localtalk (GS,
Mac, Imagewriter II, and soon (hopefully) Laserwriter Plus) to ethernet (PC)
and I'm running MacLAN (Appletalk File/Print Client/Server) under win95.
After educating myself on the Fastpath, networking in general, and a lot of
headaches, I now have a positive connection!

Through the Appleshare CDEV on the GS, I can log onto the "Performa 200"
(which has 1 drive shared) and/or the "Pentium 100" (which has 2 HD's and 1
CD-ROM drive shared). The Mac can log onto the PC, and the PC can log onto
the Mac as well. This is a blast! File sharing is no longer a problem at
all, and is super easy.

Now, a question. Can the GS use other printer drivers over Appletalk, or just
the Imagewriter and Laserwriter? I've got an Epson.LQ driver that works with
the Canon hooked up to the PC, and since MacLAN defines the Canon as a network
printer, I'd like to be able to send stuff to it from the GS and the Mac.
Thanks for any help on this one.

I'm going to add a networking section to my "II Universe" page soon,
describing all this great fun. I plan on making it a "SIS-ready" page. (as
soon as SHSS ships me my copy) :)
