ProFile with //e

I just received a ProFile 5 MB hard drive and installed it in slot 5
of my //e.

What is the preferred sequence for turning on a ProFile and booting
the //e if any?

Can I boot the //e from the ProFile? I tried installing the controller
card in slot seven and copying ProDOS to the ProFile but the computer
still seemed to want to look in slot 6 drive 1.
