There is a government auction website where I found all sorts of stuff, from
cars to computers, from all across the USA. www.govdeals.com. And if you
Google, you come up with a lot more.

Back 15 years ago, I went to a local school that was auctioning off their
computers on-site, TRS-80s. I picked up a Model IV and a 4p, paid $50 for
the pair. Still have the 4p.

Of course a few years later I was buying computers at the local Goodwill
shop for less than $10, for things like Apple //e's with disk drives, a //c,
Commodore, etc. But no TRS-80s. I wound up giving the 4 and a Model II to
the local Goodwill because they were too large to move, and they needed
work. The 4's keyboard was going out. A cap blew on the floppy board of the
II, and I didn't really like it - only had business programs in BASIC. 8"
floppies.
