ah I see now therein an author field the creators filled in and securing the .pdf means that can't be changed. fair enough!
again I apologize - on reading initial posts it seemd the 'security' was just causing some reader to choke & it seemed moot since printing etc was allowed. I didn't think about the hidden attributes - maintaining them is appropriate exchange for the generosity of their efforts in making it available. Not that I even wanted the dang thing, I just unlocked it trying to help out and...as I feared...briefly stepped in it.
