ROM 01 doesn't know how to work the lights on its own. You can add some
software to do it, I imagine someone else can give you the name of a file to
look for. ROM 3 fully supports extended keyboards, one of its many advantages
over ROM 01.
The IIgs keyboard has no lights, F keys, page keys, etc. It's small and feels
rather flimsy after using newer keyboards like the Extended II.
