Apple IIgs questions

Hi,

I have a few questions about the Apple IIgs.  My mom's school (she's a
teacher) recently got "new" IIgs's for their school.  Every machine in the
school has "Woz" written on them (if that helps any)  They have been
absolutely horrible.  The disk drives sometimes will read disks and
usually continually turn on and off when the computer is started but
nothing happens.  They also freeze and lock up all the time.  She has
never had any problems with the IIe that used to be in the room.  If you
need more info, e-mail me.  Everyone at that school wants their IIe's
back.  What do you think is wrong?  Maybe the logic boards need to be
replaced?  My mom thinks that those computers are just worn out.

I know little about the IIgs because I am a Mac person and never owned an
Apple II.
