IIGS in a different case...

I posted to this newsgroup two years ago, asking if anybody had ever put a
IIGS motherboard in a different box, such as a clone tower. A few people
replied, saying it was very possible, but tedious and a bit dangerous,
since the stress on the cards in the slots might cause them to break.
I never started the project, just planned it, but now I'm thinking about
doing it in a desktop case. However, something I thought would be even
cooler would be to put the IIGS MB in a Mac case!
Please, IIGS purists don't stone me for thinking of this, but the
aesthetics of a Mac II or IIci case are so much nicer than a boring clone
box.
Besides, I think the IIGS deserves to have an internal disk drive and hard
drive without having to buy a Vulcan or a Focus Hard card.
One thing I'm wondering about, however, is the internal floppy drive. Can
I use a standard Mac floppy (say 800k) with the IIGS, or do I need a
specific drive?
I'm also a bit perplexed about the prospect of lining up the GS ports with
the holes on a different case. Luckily, this project isn't something that
needs to be done right away. I've got the time and the patience

Any ideas, suggestions, thoughts on this?

Also, I was wondering if anybody knew where I could purchase tapes for the
Apple 40sc scsi tape drive? i got a hold of one for very little money, and
I think it would make a great backup solution for my IIGS (1 32 meg
partition for each 40 meg tape. It's a nice fit)

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot
