By FAR, the easiest way for you to do that would be to buy a used external
modem for the GS and download directly to the GS.  You can transfer files
via a serial link from a PC to the GS, but you'll have all kinds of
problems keeping up with file names, since Apple II file names are 15
characters long and have MS-DOS-illegal stuff in them.
